Privacy Policy

NewzWyre is operated by Chronic Internet LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Hawaii, United States ("we", "us", "our"). NewzWyre is a media intelligence platform for public relations and communications professionals: it maintains a live, continuously refreshed database of media and PR contacts across 18 industries, offers an AI-assisted pitch-drafting tool, and provides wire distribution.

This policy covers two different groups of people, and says so explicitly because they are not the same:

• Subscribers — people who create a NewzWyre account, use the site, or pay for the API.
• Media and PR contacts — journalists, creators, and other public-facing professionals whose information appears in our contact database. Most people in this group have never visited newzwyre.com; their information was collected about them from public sources, not from them directly. This group has its own section below.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites we link to or draw discovery data from.

Information we collect

From subscribers

If you create a NewzWyre account, we collect your email address, name, company, and subscription tier. Payment is handled by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card number. Paid and API-tier accounts are issued an API key. If you use our AI pitch-writing feature, we send the story details and angle you provide to our AI infrastructure to generate a draft; we do not use that content to add to, or train, anything else.

From visitors

As of this policy's effective date, the public newzwyre.com marketing site does not set cookies and does not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, still processes standard connection-level technical information (such as your IP address and request details) as an ordinary part of serving and protecting the site, the same as it would for any website on its network.

Media and PR contact data

This section is about the professional contact information in our database — most of it about people who are not NewzWyre subscribers and have never visited this site.

What we collect: name, publication or outlet, professional title or beat, a work or publicly listed email address, social media handles or profile links, and links to recently published public work. We do not collect home addresses, phone numbers, or other non-professional personal details.

Where it comes from: our discovery systems gather this information from public platforms and public directories, including YouTube, Spotify, Substack, Bluesky, Mastodon, GitHub, public newsletter directories, publicly listed newsroom RSS feeds, and a crawl of publicly linked blogs and publications. Records are refreshed automatically and on an ongoing basis so they stay current with each person's own public profile.

Lawful basis: we rely on legitimate interests — connecting PR and communications professionals with media contacts whose own public beat or work is genuinely relevant to what they're pitching. Before we rely on this basis for any given set of contacts, we document the purpose, the necessity of the processing, and a balancing assessment against the individual's rights, and we review that assessment periodically.

How it's used: contact records are shown to paying subscribers to help them find relevant people to pitch. Search results mask email addresses (for example, j***@domain.com) regardless of who is searching; full contact details are released only in line with a subscriber's plan.

How to be removed: if you are a media or PR professional and do not want your information included, email removal@newzwyre.com. We will add you to our suppression list, stop displaying your record, and stop refreshing it. This is honored regardless of where you live or what legal basis applies, and the suppression record is kept indefinitely so you are not re-added later.

How we use information

• To operate subscriber accounts, billing, and API access.
• To power contact search and the AI pitch-writing feature for subscribers.
• To keep the media-contact database accurate and current.
• To protect the site and API against automated abuse.
• To respond to questions, requests, and legal obligations.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Legal bases (for individuals in the UK, EU, and EEA)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies: for subscribers, we rely on contract (to provide the service you signed up for) and consent (for optional features); for the media-contact database, we rely on legitimate interests as described above; and we rely on legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.

Service providers

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, content delivery, DNS, security, and email routing.
• Stripe, Inc. — subscription billing.
• Cloudflare Workers AI — generates AI pitch drafts from the input subscribers provide.

We use email infrastructure to send account and billing notices; if you're a subscriber and don't receive an email you're expecting, contact us directly rather than assuming it was sent. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

International transfers

We operate from the United States, and our providers process data on infrastructure located in the United States and elsewhere. If you access the site or are contacted from outside the United States, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

How long we keep information

• Subscriber account data: for as long as your account is active, plus standard billing recordkeeping afterward.
• Media and PR contact records: kept on a rolling basis while actively maintained from public sources; removed from active use immediately on a verified removal request, with the suppression entry itself kept indefinitely so we don't re-add you.
• Analytics: none currently retained — we do not run analytics tracking on the public site as of this policy's effective date.
• Server and security logs: we do not currently operate a dedicated long-term log store; our hosting provider processes connection and request metadata in real time as part of its standard security service.

Your rights

Whether you are a subscriber or a media/PR professional whose information appears in our database, you may have the right — depending on where you live — to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you, to receive a portable copy, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights under their state statutes; residents of the UK, EU, and EEA have them under the GDPR.

To make a request, email privacy@newzwyre.com (or removal@newzwyre.com if you specifically want out of the media-contact database). We will verify your request and respond within the period required by applicable law. If you are in the UK or EEA and are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This site and service are intended for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and our media-contact database is limited to professional, public-facing information about adults acting in a professional capacity.

Security

Traffic to this site and our API is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access to our systems is restricted and authenticated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

AI-assisted features

Contact discovery and matching, and the pitch-drafting tool, are powered by automated and AI/ML systems, including large language models run on Cloudflare Workers AI. Pitch drafts are generated from the information a subscriber provides and are meant as a starting point, not a finished, verified communication — see our Terms of Service for the responsibilities that come with that.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes or as the law requires. The effective date at the top reflects the current version.
